Hello All! My name is Amber Ladd and I have enjoyed teaching Social Studies at Boys Ranch since 2007. For the past few years, I have also been an Instructional Coach at the high school. Before working at Boys Ranch, I was a Constituent Services Representative for Congressman Mac Thornberry and had been a Congressional Intern for Congressman Combest in Washington, D.C. The knowledge and experience I gained while working for both Congressman Thornberry and Congressman Combest helped me as I started my career in education teaching government classes. I have since taught US History, World History, Economics, and World Geography at the high school level and am currently pursuing my Masters of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies degree at the University of Texas at Arlington. I take great pleasure in teaching, getting to know my students, and watching as they see success in the classroom and in other aspects of their lives. Personally, I have two beautiful daughters and one little fur baby. My oldest daughter is starting her freshman year at Texas A&M University in Galveston, and my youngest daughter is going to be a freshman at Boys Ranch High School. I gained my love for history through my mom who taught me in my social studies classes for four years in high school. I love to travel and see historical sites, having travelled throughout the United States, Mexico, the Carribean, and several countries in Europe, and can't wait to visit many more.
